This kid is a good guy, and will make an excellent captain. If this team keeps plugging away at this rebuild, we WILL have a new banner to hang....from the rafters of the Barclay's Center...

Great move by the Islanders and JT. Sounds like a standup guy.

Being from London I got to see him play for the knights a few times. Never heard anything but positives about his character.

Class act who stays true to his word and and loyal to his fans. Kudos to you JT.

I met him and a few other players when I was in Tampa on a business trip. JT and Moulson were good guys...signed autographs for my son.

I met his uncle in 2009 before the draft he told me the whole family including JT himself wants him to be a leaf.

I read his parents were glad that JT was playing ina smaller market like the Islanders because they didn't want him to be caught up in the media circus in Toronto. In six years you might get him to sign there but he is enjoying LI and NY and is glad to be there.

If I was a Leafs fan, I would be really frustrated. You guys spend like the Rangers but your results are like the lesser teams. At least the Islanders have a good farm system.

Yeah so did Suter, Weber, Parise, Luongo, Justin Shultz, and Rick Nash in the last few weeks. So weird that no one actually signs there, even though they are the most sought after franchise in all of Hockey. It's almost like retarded kids just make this poop up and spew it out on the interenet. Naw, Leaf are far to knowledgable and full of integrity to do something like that. JT is an Islander for life.

Probably the reason Tavares signed a 6 year extension with the Islanders the first chance he got. face the facts: no one wants to play for a garbage team that hasn't won a cup in 45 years.

Well I always wanted to be a Leaf too. A Leaf, fireman, and policeman in that order. They have had such a great team over the last fourty years doesn't everyone want to be a Leaf?

No disrespect to any leaf fans, but my friends from Toronto brought up to me a few years ago (and they were right) that the leafs organization has been the worst drafting team in the league........since the Wendl Clarke draft year
